SSRS Developer (5+ Years Experience)

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced SSRS Developer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS, and Business Intelligence Reporting. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and supporting enterprise reporting solutions, working closely with business users to translate reporting requirements into scalable and high-performing SSRS reports and dashboards.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain SSRS reports based on business requirements.
• Create and manage parameterized reports, drill-down reports, drill-through reports, matrix reports, charts, sub-reports, and ad-hoc reports.
• Develop both client-side and server-side reporting solutions using SSRS components such as Tables, Lists, Matrix, Charts, and Gauges.
• Build and manage report snapshots, linked reports, report subscriptions, and data-driven subscriptions.
• Deploy, configure, and manage reports through SSRS Report Manager.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions to support reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, perform analysis, and prepare technical specifications.
• Support data validation, report testing, performance tuning, and production deployments.
• Work with data warehouse structures and dimensional data models to create effective reporting solutions.
• Troubleshoot report and database performance issues and provide ongoing production support.
• Participate in the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.

 

 

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server and SSRS development.
• Strong expertise in T-SQL, stored procedures, views, functions, triggers, and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience developing complex SSRS reports using:
• Tables
• Matrix
• Charts
• Lists
• Gauges
• Sub-reports
• Experience with:
• Report Manager
• Report Builder
• Data-driven subscriptions
• Linked reports
• Report snapshots
• Good understanding of Data Warehousing and Dimensional Modelling concepts.
• Experience with Visual Studio/SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT).
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

 

 

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Power BI for dashboard and visualization development.
• Exposure to ETL processes and data integration concepts.
• Knowledge of database design, performance tuning, and reporting best practices.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
