Project Role Description:
Lead the engineering organization by driving end-to-end delivery of enterprise applications, modernization initiatives, and engineering excellence. Manage cross-functional teams, collaborate with business and technology stakeholders, and ensure successful execution of strategic programs while fostering innovation, technical excellence, and customer success.

Summary
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead multiple engineering teams responsible for designing, building, modernizing, and supporting enterprise applications. You will be accountable for delivery excellence, customer engagement, engineering strategy, modernization roadmaps, and people development. You will work closely with product owners, architects, business stakeholders, and leadership to deliver scalable, resilient, cloud-native solutions while driving continuous improvement across engineering practices.
The ideal candidate should possess deep technical expertise in Java 17, Spring Boot, Microservices, Reactive Programming, Azure Cloud, and enterprise application architecture, while demonstrating proven experience in managing large engineering teams, driving delivery governance, mentoring engineering managers and architects, and influencing strategic technology decisions.
Roles & Responsibilities
Lead multiple engineering teams delivering enterprise-scale applications and modernization programs.
Own end-to-end delivery, including planning, execution, risk management, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Drive engineering best practices, architecture governance, design reviews, and technical excellence across teams.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, product management, architects, and customer leadership to define engineering roadmaps and execution strategies.
Build and mentor high-performing engineering teams, including Engineering Managers, Technical Leads, Architects, and Senior Engineers.
Establish delivery governance, operational metrics, engineering KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead cloud modernization, application modernization, and digital transformation initiatives.
Drive Agile execution, release planning, capacity management, portfolio prioritization, and engineering productivity.
Champion DevOps, CI/CD, automation, observability, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and AI-assisted software engineering practices.
Promote engineering excellence by enforcing coding standards, design principles, code reviews, and architectural best practices.
Identify delivery risks proactively and implement mitigation strategies to ensure predictable outcomes.
Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and engineering craftsmanship.
Professional & Technical Skills
Must Have Skills
Strong expertise in Java 17, Spring Boot, Microservices, and REST API development.
Hands-on experience in Reactive Programming using Spring WebFlux and Project Reactor.
Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), SOLID Principles, Design Patterns, Clean Code principles, and software engineering best practices.
Excellent architectural and design thinking with the ability to build scalable, resilient, secure, and maintainable enterprise applications.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, asynchronous messaging, and API-first design.
Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud and cloud-native application architectures.
Experience leading large engineering teams and managing multiple concurrent programs and enterprise portfolios.
Proven experience in delivery governance, stakeholder management, customer engagement, and executive communication.
Strong people leadership, coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and talent development skills.
Experience driving application modernization, cloud migration, and digital transformation programs.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities with the ability to influence engineering decisions across teams.
Good to Have Skills
Apache Kafka or other messaging platforms.
Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration platforms.
CI/CD using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Observability using Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, or similar platforms.
AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Agentic AI, or similar developer productivity solutions.
Experience implementing engineering metrics, DORA metrics, engineering productivity, and operational excellence practices.
Domain experience in Logistics, Transportation, Retail, Supply Chain, or other large-scale enterprise environments.
Additional Information
Minimum 15 years of overall IT experience, with significant experience in engineering leadership, enterprise application development, and delivery management.
Demonstrated success in managing enterprise-scale modernization, cloud transformation, and strategic engineering initiatives.
Experience managing geographically distributed engineering teams, customer-facing engagements, and large engineering portfolios.
Strong balance of technical depth, architecture expertise, people leadership, and delivery management is expected.
This position is based at our Hyderabad office.
