Trade Lifecycle Lead - Vice President
Are you ready to make your mark by leading critical post-trade outcomes, reducing risk, and modernizing settlement processes through automation and strong controls?
As a Securities Settlements Vice President within Global Securities Operations, you manage end-to-end Fixed Income (cash and repurchase agreement) settlement activity across Euroclear and Europe, Middle East and Africa domestic markets. You lead reconciliations, fails and exceptions, and daily control execution to mitigate operational risk and support regulatory compliance, including Central Securities Depositories Regulation (CSDR). You partner closely with stakeholders across trading, front office, middle office, custodian banks, and brokers while developing talent and driving operational excellence alongside teams such as Asset Servicing.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end Fixed Income (cash and repurchase agreement) settlement processing across Euroclear and Europe, Middle East and Africa domestic markets.
- Own daily reconciliations of cash, position, and suspense accounts and drive timely resolution of breaks.
- Manage settlement fails and complex exceptions, including client escalations, and drive root-cause remediation.
- Execute and document daily key controls in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure adherence to applicable regulations, including Central Securities Depositories Regulation (CSDR), with a strong risk and control mindset.
- Partner with trading, cash, emerging markets, and repurchase agreement businesses to resolve discrepancies and minimize business and operational risk.
- Coordinate with treasury and the trading desk on daily funding projections.
- Engage with custodian banks and brokers to manage cross-border settlement processes and issue resolution.
- Identify, design, and implement automation opportunities to improve reporting accuracy, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures to support training, incident response, and operational continuity.
- Partner with change management to deliver process changes and system improvements, ensuring smooth integration across settlement functions.
Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities:
- 12+ years of experience in securities operations with a focus on settlement in a regulated broker-dealer environment.
- Demonstrated end-to-end understanding of the trade lifecycle (pre-matching, matching, settlement, fails, and exceptions).
- Deep product knowledge across Fixed Income cash and repurchase agreement transactions.
- Proven experience running settlement activity across Euroclear and Europe, Middle East and Africa domestic markets.
- Strong risk, control, and compliance mindset, including experience operating under Central Securities Depositories Regulation (CSDR) requirements.
- Hands-on experience owning cash, position, and suspense reconciliations and resolving breaks within control timelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root-cause analysis for settlement fails.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams and interact effectively with senior leadership.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-volume environments with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across front office, middle office, treasury, custodian banks, and brokers.
- Ability to manage cross-border and multi-market settlement activity and related exceptions.
Preferred qualifications, skills, and capabilities:
- Experience supporting securities lending settlement processes and controls.
- Proficiency with Euroclear, Depository Trust Company (DTC), and Bank of New York Mellon platforms and related reconciliation processes.
- Demonstrated experience driving automation to improve operational efficiency and reporting accuracy.
- Experience developing and maintaining training-ready standard operating procedures to support continuity and scalability.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with change management on process and system enhancements.
- Experience managing complex client exceptions across multiple domestic markets.
- Experience operating within clearing or custody operations environments.
