**Required Qualifications**
- Strong backend development experience building production-grade services and APIs.
- Experience designing and developing complex, scalable, and high-performing systems.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, service-oriented architecture, data modeling, and API design.
- Proven ability to deliver large or ambiguous technical projects with minimal guidance.
- Strong coding skills and commitment to clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
- Experience with observability, debugging, performance tuning, and production operations.
- Ability to mentor engineers and provide clear technical guidance.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience with cloud platforms, microservices, event-driven systems, or large-scale data processing.
- Experience improving system reliability, reducing latency, or scaling services through periods of growth.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, containerization, or service orchestration.
- Track record of influencing technical direction across a team or product area.

**Success Profile**
A successful IC4 in this role is a strong individual contributor who consistently delivers high-quality backend systems, leads by example technically, mentors others effectively, and helps the team solve complex problems with clarity, ownership, and strong execution.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Own complex technical projects from architecture through implementation, testing, deployment, and iteration.
- Build high-performance services with strong attention to reliability, latency, observability, and operational excellence.
- Partner with product, design, data, infrastructure, and other engineering teams to deliver high-impact solutions.
- Make sound technical decisions that balance speed, quality, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
- Improve engineering practices through code reviews, design reviews, documentation, and mentoring.
- Identify technical risks, propose pragmatic solutions, and drive execution to successful outcomes.
- Help raise the engineering bar by mentoring junior and mid-level engineers
