Role Responsibilities

We are looking for a Security Researcher to join our team The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security research particularly in the context of browser extensions The role involves conducting security threat detection and hunting for browser extensions identifying malware and ensuring a clean and trusted extension ecosystem

Required Qualifications

A minimum of 7 years of experience in extension development or as a Security Analyst is essential with a bachelors degree in computer science information security or a related field being preferred

Knowledge of JavaScript HTML and CSS is essential along with experience in analyzing and debugging JavaScript code

Good understanding of browser internals including the extensions ecosystem and how it functions

Familiarity with browser extension APIs and their security models

Proficient in using security tools and techniques for analyzing browser extensions and implementing best practices

Familiarity with common browser extension vulnerabilities and attack vectors

Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly communicate technical concepts

Strong collaboration skills

Responsibilities

Conduct security assessments of browser extensions to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities

Perform static and dynamic malware analysis of different extension

Respond to security incidents related to browser extensions investigating the root cause and implementing measures to prevent recurrence

Reverse engineer potentially harmful extensions to understand their operations and impact

Identify Indicators of Compromise IoCs and Tactics Techniques and Procedures TTPs

Build and implement security signatures

Develop and implement strategies to mitigate threats and improve overall security posture

Identify review workflow pain points and implement solutions to optimize or scale processes

Stay up to date with the latest security trends and threats in the browser extension ecosystem

Preferred Skills

Understanding of common malware in Generative AI systems

Proficiency in writing detection rules using Yara and KQL

Familiarity with threat intelligence platforms and malware campaigns
