JOB PURPOSE

• Carelon Global Solutions India is seeking an Assistant Manager EBA.
• The Operations Assistant Manager in US Healthcare is accountable for leading, managing, and delivering large-scale healthcare operations across functions such as benefit configuration, adjudication & testing.
• The primary purpose of this role is to ensure end-to-end operational excellence, delivering services in line with contractual commitments, client expectations, and regulatory requirements (CMS, HIPAA, ACA, Medicare, Medicaid, ERISA).

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

Operations Management

• Oversee day-to-day delivery of healthcare operations through Team Leaders/SMEs and ensure adherence to SLAs/KPIs (productivity, quality, TAT, RE).
• Track and analyze performance data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions for improvement.
• Execute forecasting and capacity planning to ensure optimal resource allocation.
• Manage escalations from Team Leaders/clients and resolve complex issues requiring deep domain knowledge.
• Support budget management by monitoring expenses and utilizing cost-control levers to ensure compliance with financial guidelines.

People Leadership & Team Development

• Lead and manage a team of 100+ employees, including direct supervision of Team Leads
• Conduct regular performance reviews, coach team leaders, and create development/action plans for their teams.
• Drive employee engagement through recognition programs, team-building, and open communication there by managing attrition
• Identify skill gaps and work with Training/Quality teams to build team capability.
• Team player in organizational activities

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure quality control through regular audits, feedback sessions, and error trend analysis.
• Partner with Quality teams to ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and contractual audit standards.
• Keep documentation, SOPs, and regulatory updates current and audit ready.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Support Operations Manager in client governance meetings, MBR, QBRs & operational reviews.
• Act as point of contact for client escalations at the mid-management level.
• Translate client requirements into actionable operational changes and ensure timely execution.
• Collaborate with other functions and proactively seek support when needed to meet shared goals
• Oversee seamless transition and integration of new work streams.
• Process Excellence & Automation
• Lead/participate in Lean Six Sigma & GB to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Support automation/digitization initiatives to reduce manual work and improve turnaround time.
• Encourage associates and Team Leaders to participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement

Technical Proficiency

• Leverage advanced excel skills for data analysis, reporting, and automation (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, dashboards).
• Create impactful presentations and reports using PowerPoint for leadership and client reviews.

QUALIFICATION

• Requires B.Com | BBA | BBM |BA |BSC (Computer Science- Generic )
• HS diploma or equivalent
• Post graduation in any stream, specialized trainings & certifications preferred

              

EXPERIENCE

• 12 + years’ experience with 60+ months in people management role
• Proven track record of leading teams, including experience in supervising, mentoring, and developing staff to achieve team objectives.
• Knowledge in Benefit Configuration & Testing

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• In-depth knowledge of US healthcare operations & Benefit Configuration and Testing
• Exceptional verbal and written communication for effective client and team engagement
• Skilled in delivering impactful presentations
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
• Experienced in mentoring and coaching team members to achieve high performance
• Committed to inclusivity and collaboration across diverse stakeholder groups
• Strong analytical ability to interpret complex data and support strategic decision-making
• Adopt at solving problems and making sound decisions under pressure
• Capable of aligning client expectations with team capacity and deliverables
• Good understanding of SLA/KPI management, quality frameworks, and audit readiness.
