Job Description:

• Responsibilities

  Contributing Responsibilities 

  • Strong experience in functional/manual testing/DB testing / Integration/Power BI and API testing 
  • • Design and execute test plans for functional and non-functional requirements.  
    • Develop functional, non-functional, and exploratory test cases targeting Database queries, Power BI reports, Interface flows, and API calls 
    • Creation of good quality test scenarios for manual testing, reviewing and validating them with BA and inputting in ALM 
    • Execution of manual test cases, issuing reports (DSR, RCA, etc.) and sharing with the test manager on a timely manner 
    • Execution of end-to-end integration testing in collaboration with other applications teams using API calls, and integration strategies. 
    • Strong knowledge to write and execute SQL queries to validate backend data.  
    • Perform data validation for ETL/data pipelines like NIFI  
    • Validate Power BI dashboards, reports and data models. Check data accuracy, field mappings, calculations and visual formatting.  
    • Ensure End-to-End validation from source data to final reports.  
    • Test REST/SOAP APIs using tools like Postman/Swagger/Soap UI. Validate integrations between services through API layers.  
    • Strong analytical and quick learning skills required, to handle test cases in a rich and complex architecture with many interconnected applications. 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, managers, subject matter experts and technical teams. 
    • Participate and contribute to all Agile / Scrum rituals of the squad (daily stand-up, grooming, sprint planning, retrospective meetings) 
    • Reporting to test lead & manager on the test activities progress and data gathering to generate metrics. 
    • Automation script development & maintenance, knowledge on the automation framework is an advantage. 
    • Contribute to analysis of defects and identification of root cause and pattern using Test management tools.  

     

    Technical & Behavioral Competencies 

    Mandatory (Testing Skills):  

    • Minimum 5 - 6 years’ relevant experience in software testing in Banking domain  
    • Experience working in scrum team * Proficient in test life cycle management using HP-ALM/ALM Octane 
    • Manual Functional testing with various techniques on Identifying required test data or mockup required test data. 
    • Integration testing with API calls on System Integration testing, End to End testing and API integration testing. 
    • Identifying regression test cases from existing pool of functional test cases or create them if they are not available. 
    • Hands-on experience in writing test cases for complex projects, test data preparation and test execution. 
    • Hands on experience in writing performance test cases. 
    • Good oral & written Communication skills. 
    • A good team player with problem-solving attitude. 
    • Analytical and precise: Capacity to challenge the team and convince based on facts.  

    Mandatory (Technical Skills): 

    • Experience testing Database, Power BI dashboards  
    • Knowledge of SDLC, STLC and Defect life cycle. 
    • Exposure to API testing (Postman, Swagger, etc.) 
    • Proficiency in SQL (joins, aggregations, validations) 
    • Proficient in HP ALM, Quality Center, ALM Octane 
    • Experience in Unix, Batch processing 

    Nice to have: 

    • Wealth management banking domain  

    Multi-tasking:  

    Ability to accommodate more than one testing at a time for concurrent projects testing
