As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the AI/ML & Data Platforms team, you will design and deliver scalable ServiceNow solutions that support our business objectives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical outcomes and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. Job responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, and customize ServiceNow applications, modules, and custom apps (App Engine Studio/ServiceNow Studio)
• Build scalable solutions following ServiceNow best practices and platform capabilities
• Write and maintain JavaScript/Glide-based code, including Script Includes and secure coding standards
• Create and maintain platform artifacts: Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies/Actions, ACLs, Scheduled Jobs, Flow Designer, and Workflows
• Develop integrations: Scripted REST APIs, REST/MID Server integrations, and third-party system interfaces
• Implement and customize core solutions: ITSM, HRSD, CSM, CMDB, and Service Portal/Employee Center
• Develop Service Catalog capabilities: Catalog Items, Record Producers, Order Guides, and complex catalog workflows
• Configure operational processes: Notifications, Email Scripts, SLAs, Approval Workflows, and Knowledge Management
• Design/optimize CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping; troubleshoot issues, improve performance, and lead upgrades, clone management, and instance governance; leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools with validation (peer review, testing) and share reusable patterns/automation improvements
• Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness.
• Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.

 

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
• Proven experience designing and developing ServiceNow applications and modules
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting (Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes)
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow platform features such as Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and App Engine Studio
• Experience implementing and customizing ITSM, HRSD, CSM, CMDB, and Service Portal/Employee Center
• Ability to develop and maintain REST integrations and third-party system interfaces
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience with code reviews and enforcing development standards
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage within team practices.
• Experience collaborating with Solution Architects, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer or Certified Implementation Specialist
• Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and MID Server integrations
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
• Experience mentoring junior developers and leading technical initiatives
