Fabrication Fitter

The Fabrication Fitter is responsible for fitting, assembling, aligning, and preparing metal components and structures as per engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

• Key ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, and welding symbols.
• Measure, mark, cut, grind, bevel, and prepare metal plates, pipes, channels, angles, and structural components.
• Perform fit-up and assembly of fabricated components as per drawings and dimensions.
• Carry out tack welding and coordinate with welders for final welding.
• Check dimensions, alignment, levels, gaps, and tolerances using measuring instruments.
• Use hand tools, power tools, grinders, cutting torches, and other fabrication equipment safely.
• Assist in the fabrication of structural steel, frames, tanks, vessels, platforms, and other components as required.
• Identify and correct fit-up errors before welding.
• Maintain quality standards and follow production schedules.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain housekeeping in the work area.
• Required SkillsKnowledge of fabrication tools, equipment, and fitting techniques.
• Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of dimensional inspection and measurement tools.
• Experience in plate fabrication, structural fabrication, or pipe fabrication.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Qualification and ExperienceITI in Fitter, Welder, or a relevant trade is preferred.
• 2–5 years of relevant fabrication experience is preferred.
• Freshers with relevant ITI qualifications may also be considered, depending on company requirements.
