Salary: ₹40,000 – ₹50,000 per month

Role Summary

Kanhai Foods is looking for a hands-on Junior Plant Manager to support and drive day-to-day plant operations across production, packing, and maintenance. This is an all-rounder role for someone who understands how machines and processes work on the floor, can lead internal and external teams, and knows how to get things done by keeping every function moving together. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable troubleshooting a machine, planning production, holding vendors to their commitments, and managing people to deliver results across shifts.

Key Responsibilities

1. Oversee daily plant operations across production, packing, and maintenance to meet output and quality targets.
2. Lead and coordinate internal teams (production, quality, maintenance, housekeeping) and external teams/contractors to keep operations running smoothly across shifts.
3. Manage production planning and scheduling to meet demand while optimising manpower, machine time, and material use.
4. Handle vendor and supplier dealings — coordination, follow-ups, deliveries, and day-to-day commercial issues on the floor.
5. Monitor machine performance; identify breakdowns early and coordinate mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance to minimise downtime.
6. Ensure packing operations run to standard on quality, output, and material usage.
7. Maintain hygiene, safety, and food-safety standards across the plant in line with GMP norms.
8. Track and report production data, downtime, and operational issues to the Plant Manager.
9. Manage manpower allocation, shift coverage, and team performance to keep work moving without bottlenecks.
10. Support audits and ensure the plant stays operationally and hygienically audit-ready.

Requirements

1. 3–5 years of experience in plant / production operations, ideally in a hands-on supervisory or junior management role.
2. Availability and willingness to work both day and night shifts.
3. Strong management and leadership skills — able to lead teams, drive accountability, and get every function working together to deliver results.
4. Proven experience handling both internal teams and external teams/vendors for plant operations.
5. Strong working knowledge of how machines and plant operations function on the floor.
6. All-rounder capability across mechanical work, repairs, production planning, and packing.
7. Experience dealing with vendors and suppliers.

Qualification

1. Diploma or Degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
2. ITI with strong relevant plant experience will also be considered.
3. Additional certification or training in Production / Operations Management is an advantage.

Preferred / Good to Have

1. Experience in an FMCG or food manufacturing plant.
2. Exposure to audit standards, GMP, and food-safety practices.
3. Demonstrated ability to manage large teams and multiple functions simultaneously.
