Data Science Intern Job DescriptionPosition: Data Science Intern
Department: Data Science / Analytics
Reports to: Senior Data Scientist / Data Science Manager
About the RoleWe are seeking a motivated Data Science Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience in applying data-driven solutions to real business problems. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to work with experienced data scientists, develop technical skills, and contribute to meaningful projects.
- Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in collecting, cleaning, and preprocessing data from various sources
- Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and insights
- Build and test predictive models using machine learning algorithms
- Create data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings to stakeholders
- Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements
- Document methodologies, code, and results for reproducibility
- Present findings and recommendations to team members
- Required QualificationsCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
- Strong programming skills in Python or R
- Understanding of statistical concepts and data analysis techniques
- Familiarity with SQL and database querying
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Tableau, Power BI)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Preferred QualificationsExperience with machine learning libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Knowledge of big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Previous internship or project experience in data science
- Understanding of A/B testing and experimental design
- Portfolio of data science projects (GitHub, Kaggle, personal projects)
