Job Description

The Store Assistant will assist in the day-to-day operations of the construction company’s godown/store. The role primarily involves receiving, checking, storing, issuing and maintaining records of construction materials, tools, equipment and other items. The person should ensure that materials are properly arranged, safely stored and issued against proper authorization.

Basic Knowledge Required :

  • Construction materials and common building materials.
  • Basic units of measurement such as Nos., Kg, MT, Bags, Ltr., Mtr., Sq.ft., etc.
  • Material receiving and issuing procedures.
  • Stock register and basic inventory management.
  • Delivery Challan and Material Requisition/Issue Slip.
  • Basic computer knowledge, particularly MS Excel for maintaining stock records.
  • Basic identification of construction tools, hardware, plumbing and electrical materials.
  • Safe stacking and handling of materials.
  • Stock counting.
