Corel Draw Designer

Job Role

We are looking for an experienced CorelDRAW Designer / Pre-Press Designer who can independently handle artwork development, customer artwork approvals, colour separation and plate-ready pre-press files for cosmetic and pharmaceutical tube packaging.

The candidate should have strong practical knowledge of CorelDRAW and preferably experience in the printing, packaging, labels, tubes, flexible packaging or related industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and modify artworks for cosmetic and pharmaceutical tubes using CorelDRAW.
• Check customer artwork files for dimensions, text, colours, fonts, logos, barcodes and other printing requirements.
• Prepare tube artwork layouts according to tube diameter, length and printable area.
• Coordinate with customers/design teams for artwork corrections and final approvals.
• Prepare artwork approval files/mock-ups for customers before production.
• Handle colour separation for multilayer/pre-press plate making.
• Prepare individual separations for CMYK, Pantone/spot colours, white, varnish and other required printing layers.
• Prepare plate-ready / print-ready files with correct registration, trapping, bleed and other pre-press requirements.
• Understand the requirements of different tube printing/decorating processes such as offset printing, screen printing, hot stamping, spot UV and related processes.
• Check approved artwork against final pre-press files before plates are made.
• Maintain proper artwork versions and records to ensure that only the latest customer-approved artwork goes into production.
• Coordinate with the Production, Quality and Plate/Pre-Press teams to avoid printing errors.

Software Skills

CorelDRAW – Expert/Advanced level is mandatory

Additional knowledge of the following will be preferred:

• Adobe Illustrator
• Adobe Photoshop
• Adobe Acrobat / PDF pre-flight
• RIP / Colour Separation or other pre-press software

Required Experience

Preferred: 2–5+ years in any of the following:

Tube Packaging / Cosmetic Packaging / Pharmaceutical Packaging / Flexible Packaging / Labels / Printing / Pre-Press / Plate Making.

Candidates having direct experience with laminated tubes (ABL/PBL), seamless plastic tubes or cosmetic/pharmaceutical tube printing will be highly preferred.
