🔹 Position: Quality Engineer – PEB / Steel Structure Fabrication

🔹 Department: Quality Control / Quality Assurance

🔹 Industry: PEB | Structural Steel | Heavy Fabrication

🔹 Experience: 4–10 Years

🔹 Employment: Full-Time

⚙️ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

▪️ Inspection of PEB & structural steel fabrication activities

▪️ Inspection of raw material, plates, sections & bought-out items

▪️ Verification of material grade, MTC & heat numbers

▪️ Inspection of cutting, fit-up, assembly & fabrication

▪️ Dimensional inspection as per approved fabrication drawings

▪️ Checking member length, hole location, cleats, stiffeners & connections

▪️ Welding inspection – visual quality, size, profile & defects

▪️ Monitoring WPS / PQR / Welder Qualification compliance

▪️ Inspection of primary & secondary structural members

▪️ Checking columns, rafters, crane beams, mezzanine beams & other fabricated members

▪️ Monitoring fabrication tolerances, straightness & alignment

▪️ Inspection before blasting / painting

▪️ Surface preparation & paint quality inspection

▪️ DFT measurement and paint thickness records

▪️ Identification & control of NCR / rejected material

▪️ Coordination for rectification and re-inspection

▪️ Preparation of inspection reports & quality documentation

▪️ Maintaining ITP, QAP, inspection records & traceability

▪️ Client / Third-Party Inspection coordination

▪️ Final inspection & release of material before dispatch

▪️ Ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications & quality standards

🎯 REQUIRED SKILLS

✅ Strong knowledge of PEB & Structural Steel Fabrication

✅ Good understanding of fabrication drawings & GA drawings

✅ Strong knowledge of welding & dimensional inspection

✅ Knowledge of WPS / PQR / WPQ

✅ Knowledge of DFT & painting inspection

✅ Familiarity with IS / AWS / AISC standards

✅ Ability to independently handle Client / TPI inspections

✅ Strong documentation & reporting skills

✅ Knowledge of measuring instruments & inspection tools

✅ Practical shop-floor problem-solving ability

🔹 Vernier Caliper

🔹 Micrometer

🔹 Measuring Tape

🔹 Welding Gauge

🔹 DFT Meter

🔹 Spirit Level / Straight Edge

🔹 Other standard fabrication inspection instruments

🎓 QUALIFICATION

🎓 Diploma / B.Tech – Mechanical / Civil / Production Engineering

🏗️ Candidates with hands-on experience in PEB / Structural Steel Fabrication will be preferred.
