About the Company

SModi Infrasteel Pvt. Ltd. is a growing manufacturer of Pre-Engineered Steel Buildings (PEB), specializing in design, engineering, fabrication, supply, and erection of industrial steel structures.

We are looking for a technically sound and experienced PEB Steel Detailer who can independently handle proposal drawings, general arrangement drawings, fabrication detailing, and complete engineering documentation for PEB projects.

🔹 Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Proposal Drawings & Pre-Bid Engineering

• Prepare accurate PEB proposal drawings based on customer requirements and architectural inputs.
• Develop preliminary General Arrangement (GA) drawings for quotations and technical proposals.
• Prepare building layouts, elevations, cross-sections, roof plans, and framing arrangements.
• Incorporate crane provisions, mezzanine floors, canopies, framed openings, roof monitors, and other building accessories.
• Coordinate with the estimation and sales teams for technical clarifications and proposal revisions.
• Prepare drawings suitable for client presentations, approvals, and commercial offers.

2. General Arrangement (GA) & Approval Drawings

• Prepare detailed GA drawings for client and consultant approvals.
• Develop anchor bolt plans, column layouts, framing plans, roof plans, and elevations.
• Coordinate with structural design engineers to incorporate approved member sizes and connection details.
• Ensure drawings comply with approved building dimensions, project specifications, and design requirements.
• Handle drawing revisions and maintain proper revision records.

3. Complete PEB Steel Detailing

• Prepare detailed fabrication and shop drawings for primary steel members, including columns, rafters, crane beams, mezzanine beams, and other built-up sections.
• Develop secondary steel detailing for purlins, girts, eave struts, sag rods, bracing, and accessories.
• Prepare connection details, base plates, stiffeners, splice plates, cleats, and bolt arrangements.
• Generate assembly drawings, single-part drawings, and erection drawings.
• Prepare accurate Bill of Materials (BOM), Material Take-Off (MTO), and bolt lists.
• Ensure correct member marking, dimensions, hole locations, weld details, and fabrication requirements.

4. Fabrication & Production Coordination

• Coordinate closely with the production, PPC, quality, and fabrication teams.
• Issue accurate shop drawings and manufacturing documentation.
• Support nesting and material optimization activities.
• Resolve fabrication-related drawing queries and discrepancies.
• Ensure timely release of drawings according to production schedules.
• Minimize fabrication errors, material wastage, and rework through accurate detailing.

5. Erection Drawings & Site Support

• Prepare erection drawings, member identification plans, and installation details.
• Coordinate with site engineers to resolve erection-related drawing queries.
• Incorporate approved site modifications and prepare revised drawings when required.
• Maintain drawing consistency between design, fabrication, and erection stages.

🔹 Required Technical Skills

Candidates should have strong working knowledge of:

• AutoCAD (2D & 3D) – Proposal drawings, GA drawings, and engineering detailing.
• PEB Structural Systems – Primary and secondary framing, bracing, connections, crane systems, and mezzanine structures.
• Engineering Drawings – Ability to understand structural design drawings, architectural drawings, and technical specifications.
• MS Excel – BOM, material lists, and engineering documentation.

🔹 Eligibility CriteriaDiploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant technical discipline.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in PEB steel detailing or structural steel fabrication detailing.
• Experience in an established PEB manufacturing or structural steel fabrication company preferred.
• Must be capable of independently preparing proposal and GA drawings.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication practices, steel connections, and shop drawing requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver drawings within committed timelines.
• Good coordination and communication skills.

🔹 What We Are Looking For

We need a hands-on PEB Detailer, not just a CAD operator.

The ideal candidate must understand the complete engineering workflow, from initial customer requirements and proposal drawings to final fabrication and erection drawings.

Preference will be given to candidates who can independently manage both proposal engineering and complete PEB detailing.
