Academic Counsellor

Job Summary

In this unique hybrid role, you will act as a bridge between internal team operations (HR), fresher’s mentorship (Freshers Counselling), and market expansion (Business Development).

The ideal candidate is a relationship-builder who can empathetically guide freshers toward their goals, strategically recruit and support internal talent, and identify new business avenues to drive company growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Partnerships (35%)

• Identify, pitch, and secure strategic partnerships with corporate partners, colleges, and community organizations to expand our fresher’s enrolment and company footprint.
• Represent the organization at educational fairs, networking events, and webinars to generate high-quality leads.
• Collaborate with marketing teams to design out-of-the-box outreach campaigns and enrolment strategies.
• Meet and exceed monthly/quarterly enrolment and institutional growth targets.

2. Freshers Counselling & Student Success (35%)

• Provide end-to-end academic and career counselling to prospective and current students, helping them select the right paths and programs.
• Act as the primary point of contact for freshers onboarding, guiding them smoothly through the registration and orientation process.
• Monitor freshers progress, offer proactive support to at-risk, and implement retention strategies.
• Maintain accurate records of fresher’s interactions, feedback, and training profiles in our CRM system.

3. HR Coordination & Talent Support (30%)

• Oversee the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle for freshers and administrative staff (sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding).
• Act as the internal HR point of contact, managing employee records, attendance, and basic policy compliance.
• Coordinate staff engagement initiatives, training sessions, and performance evaluation cycles to maintain high team morale.
• Ensure smooth internal communication between faculty, administrative staff, and management.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 2–5 years of blended experience across educational sales/admissions, academic advising, recruitment, or HR operations.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to confidently pitch to corporate clients and empathetically counsel students.
• Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with CRM tools, HRIS software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Traits: A self-starter mindset with strong multitasking abilities, emotional intelligence, and a target-driven approach to growth.
