Electrician

Duties and Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, fixtures, and control systems.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment to locate the cause of a breakdown.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair.
• Read and interpret blueprints, circuit diagrams, and technical specifications to plan wiring layouts.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components safely.
• Direct and train electrician helpers or apprentices as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

• Technical Expertise: Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing meters (voltmeters, ohmmeters, oscilloscopes).
• Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking skills to troubleshoot complex electrical failures.
• Physical Stamina: Competent working in cramped spaces, climbing ladders, and lifting heavy equipment.
• Blueprint Reading: Ability to accurately comprehend technical drawings and schematic diagrams.
• Communication: Clear communication skills to explain technical issues to clients or team members.
