EDM Super Drill Operator

1. Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor EDM super drilling machines for precision hole-drilling operations.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, job cards, and machining instructions.
• Set up workpieces and ensure proper clamping, positioning, and alignment.
• Select appropriate electrodes and machining parameters based on job requirements.
• Perform small-diameter and deep-hole drilling operations on conductive materials.
• Ensure hole diameter, depth, position, and dimensional accuracy as per specifications.
• Monitor dielectric fluid circulation and machine operating conditions during machining.
• Inspect finished components using appropriate measuring instruments.
• Identify machining defects and report machine abnormalities to the supervisor.
• Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
• Maintain production records and complete assigned jobs within the specified time.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain cleanliness in the work area.
• Coordinate with production and quality control teams to meet production targets and delivery schedules.

2. Required Skills

• Basic knowledge of EDM super drilling machine operations.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand dimensional tolerances.
• Knowledge of electrode handling and machining parameters.
• Proficiency in using measuring instruments.
• Basic machine troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to follow work instructions, safety procedures, and production schedules.

3. Educational Qualification

• ITI in Fitter, Turner, Machinist, or a related technical trade is preferred.
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification may also be considered.

4. Experience

• Freshers with relevant technical knowledge or training may apply.
• Prior experience operating EDM super drilling machines is preferred.

5. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Achievement of daily production targets.
• Accuracy of hole diameter, depth, and position.
• Reduction in component rejection and rework.
• Machine utilization and minimization of downtime.
• Compliance with quality standards and safety procedures.
