Hospital Pharmacist

• Medication dispensing: 

Filling prescriptions for inpatients and outpatients, compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals. 

• Prescription review: 

Verifying physician orders to ensure they are appropriate, checking for potential therapeutic incompatibilities or drug interactions. 

• Patient and staff counselling: 

Educating patients on how to take their medications safely and effectively, and providing drug information to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. 

• Patient monitoring: 

Evaluating drug therapies and patient progress, monitoring for adverse effects, and recommending adjustments to doctors. 

• Clinical collaboration: 

Participating in clinical rounds with healthcare teams to optimize medication plans. 

• Inventory management: 

Tracking pharmaceutical inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring proper storage conditions.

• Regulatory compliance: 

Ensuring all pharmacy operations comply with federal, state, and hospital policies and regulations.

• Staff supervision: 

Directing the workflow of pharmacy technicians and verifying their work.

• Record keeping:
