Job Description
- Pre-Operative Preparation:
- Arrange and sterilize all necessary instruments and equipment.
- Maintain a sterile and hygienic operating environment.
- Stock the room with necessary supplies.
- Set up and check surgical equipment.
- Prepare the patient for surgery.
- During the Operation:
- Assist the surgeon and surgical team by anticipating needs and passing instruments.
- Operate and monitor various surgical machinery and instruments.
- Help monitor patient vitals throughout the procedure.
- Ensure the sterile field remains intact.
- Post-Operative Duties:
- Safely transfer the patient to the recovery room.
- Clean, disinfect, and restock the operating room and its supplies.
- Dispose of biohazard materials and used equipment.
- Equipment and Inventory Management:
- Perform regular maintenance checks on medical equipment and instruments.
- Report any faulty equipment for repair or replacement.
- Manage the inventory of surgical instruments and supplies.
