Job SummaryWe are looking for a skilled and dedicated Pantry Chef specializing in salad preparation, sandwich making, and cold kitchen operations. The candidate will be responsible for preparing fresh, hygienic, and visually appealing salads and sandwiches while maintaining high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities1. Salad Preparation

• Prepare a variety of fresh salads, including green salads, vegetable salads, fruit salads, protein salads, and specialty salads.
• Prepare salad dressings, dips, and accompaniments as per menu requirements.
• Ensure proper washing, sanitizing, cutting, portioning, and storage of fruits and vegetables.
• Maintain freshness, taste, presentation, and consistency in all salad preparations.

2. Sandwich Preparation

• Prepare a variety of sandwiches, including veg, grilled, club, cheese, corn and mayonnaise, and other specialty sandwiches.
• Handle bread, fillings, spreads, sauces, and vegetables with proper care and storage.
• Ensure consistent portion sizes, quality, taste, and attractive presentation.
• Manage sandwich preparation efficiently during peak service hours.

3. Kitchen Operations

• Follow daily menus, production plans, and standard recipes.
• Ensure timely preparation and replenishment of salads and sandwiches.
• Maintain adequate stock of ingredients and inform the supervisor about shortages.
• Minimize food wastage through proper production planning and inventory control.
• Coordinate with the kitchen team and service staff to ensure smooth operations.

4. Hygiene and Food Safety

• Maintain personal hygiene and follow food safety standards.
• Ensure proper temperature control and storage of perishable food items.
• Prevent cross-contamination by using appropriate chopping boards, knives, and utensils.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the pantry, workstations, equipment, and utensils.
• Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) and proper food labelling practices.
• Required Skills and Qualifications2–4 years of relevant experience in pantry or cold kitchen operations.
• Good knowledge of salad varieties, sandwich preparation, dressings, and dips.
• Ability to maintain consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, safe food handling, and storage practices.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet service timelines.
• Good teamwork, time management, and organizational skills.
