Store Associate cum Cashier

Job Purpose

To drive sales on the shop floor by assisting customers with product selection, providing excellent customer service, and contributing to the store's overall sales targets and to process customer billing transactions accurately and efficiently at the point of sale, ensuring a smooth and pleasant checkout experience while maintaining cash and billing accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers in product selection based on their preferences and needs.
• Process customer purchases accurately through the POS system
• Handle cash, card, UPI, and other digital payment modes as per store policy
• Issue accurate invoices/bills and apply discounts or promotional offers correctly
• Maintain accurate cash drawer balance throughout the shift, targeting zero variance at shift-end
• Handle cash securely and report any discrepancies immediately to the Store Manager
• Drive add-on sales and cross-selling to improve average bill value (ABV) and units per transaction (UPT)
• Stay updated on new arrivals, promotions, and pricing to inform customers accurately
• Greet and engage customers warmly as they enter the store
• Provide accurate product knowledge (materials, designs, care instructions) for imitation jewellery
• Handle customer queries and ensure a positive shopping experience, maintaining a customer satisfaction score of 90% or above
• Ensure products are displayed as per visual merchandising guidelines
• Support stock replenishment on the shop floor
• Report low stock/fast-moving items to the Store Manager/Assistant Manager
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned sections/counters
• Support billing counter during peak hours if required

Required Qualifications & Experience

• • 10th or 12th Pass
• • 0–3 years of retail sales experience; freshers with strong communication skills can apply
• Basic computer literacy required
