Job DescriptionWe are looking for an enthusiastic and technically inclined Technical Assistant to support our Senior Engineer in providing Laser Tracker

Inspection and Measurement Services at customer locations.

The selected candidate will assist the Senior Engineer with equipment handling and setup, on-site measurement activities, inspection work, data collection and documentation.

This is a field-oriented position involving regular travel to customer sites. The role provides an excellent opportunity for a fresher or junior technical candidate to gain hands-on experience in precision measurement, industrial metrology, dimensional inspection and Laser Tracker technology.

• Key ResponsibilitiesAccompany the Senior Engineer for inspection and measurement assignments at customer sites.
• Assist in setting up and handling the Leica Laser Tracker and associated measurement equipment.
• Assist the engineer during dimensional inspection, alignment and measurement activities.
• Handle Laser Tracker accessories, SMRs, reflectors, probes, stands and other precision equipment carefully.
• Assist in taking and recording measurements as instructed by the Senior Engineer.
• Support inspection of large machinery, components, fixtures and assemblies.
• Assist with machine/component alignment and geometrical verification.
• Maintain equipment and accessory checklists before and after site visits.
• Assist in maintaining measurement data, job sheets, photographs and inspection records.
• Safely pack, unpack and transport precision measurement equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures and customer-site requirements.
• Maintain professional conduct while working at customer premises.
• Undertake other technical activities related to inspection services as instructed by the Senior Engineer.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should:

• Have an ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Have basic knowledge of engineering drawings and dimensional measurements.
• Be familiar with basic measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers and micrometers.
• Have basic computer knowledge.
• Be comfortable working in industrial and manufacturing environments.
• Have good observation skills and attention to detail.
• Be willing to learn new measurement technologies and inspection techniques.
• Be disciplined, punctual and responsible while handling expensive precision equipment.
• Be willing to travel frequently to customer sites.
• Be flexible with working hours depending on customer and project requirements.

Preferred Knowledge or experience in any of the following will be an added advantage:

Prior experience with a Leica Laser Tracker is not mandatory. Suitable training and practical exposure will be provided.

Important: This is not a desk-based position. The candidate will be required to accompany the Senior Engineer to factories, manufacturing facilities and customer sites for inspection assignments. Candidates should apply only if they are comfortable with regular fieldwork and travel.

Based on performance, technical competency and experience, there will be opportunities to progress into roles such as Laser Tracker Technician, Inspection Engineer or Metrology Engineer.
