Indian Cook

To assist the Indian Chef in the smooth and efficient operation of the Indian kitchen, supporting the preparation and service of restaurant orders, club functions and banquet events while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene and consistency.

• Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the Indian Chef with daily mise en place and food preparation for the Indian section.
• Prepare Indian gravies, curries, starters, breads and other dishes as instructed.
• Handle restaurant à la carte orders efficiently during service.
• Assist with preparation and execution of banquet and club event orders, including larger-volume production.
• Ensure food is prepared according to the club's recipes, portion sizes and quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the Indian kitchen, workstations and equipment.
• Ensure proper storage, labelling and rotation of ingredients and prepared food.
• Assist with checking kitchen stock and inform the Chef of items required.
• Follow food safety, personal hygiene and kitchen safety procedures at all times.
• Help maintain smooth coordination between the Indian section and other kitchen sections during busy services.
• Support the Indian Chef in maintaining consistency in taste, presentation and portion control.
• Assist with opening and closing duties of the Indian kitchen section.
• Be flexible to work during weekends, evenings, club events and banquet functions as required.
• Skills & RequirementsMinimum 1 year of experience working in an Indian kitchen.
• Good understanding of basic Indian cooking techniques and ingredients.
• Ability to work under pressure during busy restaurant and banquet services.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Clean, disciplined and organised approach to kitchen work.
• Willingness to learn and take instructions from the Indian Chef.
• Ability to work flexible hours according to restaurant and banquet requirements.
• Experience in a hotel, restaurant, club or banquet kitchen will be an advantage.
