Job Description
The Academic Counsellor guides students and parents in choosing the right MBA/PGDM, BBA, Law, or Engineering college based on the student's academic profile, entrance scores, career goals, and budget. The role involves converting enquiries into admissions through honest, profile-based counselling, and representing IANA Education at events such as the Know Your B-School fair.
Key Responsibilities
Counsel students and parents by phone, WhatsApp, video call, and in person
Evaluate each student's profile (academics, CAT/XAT/CMAT/MAT scores, work experience) and suggest suitable colleges
Explain courses, fees, placements, eligibility, and admission procedures of partner institutions
Follow up on leads from Meta ads, events, and walk-ins until conversion
Assist students with applications, documentation, entrance exam registration, and deadlines
Conduct counselling sessions and seminars at schools, colleges, and education fairs
Coordinate with partner colleges for admission updates, seat availability, and campus visits
Maintain lead records, counselling notes, and daily/weekly reports in the CRM or Google Sheets
Achieve monthly admission and conversion
targets
Build long-term trust with students and parents through transparent guidance
Keep updated on entrance exams, cut-offs, and admission trends
