Project Engineer

We build residential apartments in Jigani, Bangalore, and hire for our ongoing and upcoming projects. We need a hands-on Project Engineer who runs the site through to the handover of finished flats to customers: the sequence of work, the contractors, the quality checks and the snag list. We want someone who has handed over flats, not someone who manages documents.

Both site supervisors (civil, and electrical-plumbing-finishes) report to you. You plan the work a week ahead, hold every contractor to the drawing, the rate and the date, check work before it is covered, and record it the same day in our site app. You report to the owner.

What you will do:

Plan the project schedule and a weekly look-ahead; set the sequence of trades and hold it

Lead the civil supervisor and the electrical, plumbing and finishes supervisor; assign work and check it daily

Read and coordinate structural, architectural and MEP drawings; resolve clashes with the consultants before work starts

Issue work orders to contractors; agree rates and scope in writing; measure and certify their bills

Control quality: checklists, tests and sign-offs before any work is covered; close snags

Control cost: material requisitions, stock and consumption against estimate, labour attendance against output

Run site safety: PPE, scaffolds, edge protection, housekeeping

Keep the site record in our site app: daily progress, photos, measurements, decisions

Prepare flats and common areas for inspection and customer handover

Report progress, cost and risks to the owner every week

Work: Monday to Saturday, 9 am to 6 pm. Experience: 8+ years on residential sites, of which at least 3 taking a multi-storey apartment project through to handover.
