Network (Support) Engineer

Job SummaryWe are looking for a Network Support Engineer responsible for installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and support of network infrastructure across customer sites. The role involves working with switches, routers, firewalls, Wi-Fi, structured cabling, fiber optic networks, and related IT infrastructure.

• Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN network infrastructure.
• Configure and troubleshoot managed switches, routers, access points, and network devices.
• Handle VLAN, STP, LACP, DHCP, DNS, IP addressing, and subnetting.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity, latency, packet loss, and intermittent network issues.
• Perform fiber optic and structured cabling testing and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with customers and internal teams for site-level network issues.
• Configure and troubleshoot Wi-Fi networks, including SSID, VLAN mapping, authentication, and coverage-related issues.
• Assist in network commissioning, testing, and handover activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance and health checks of network infrastructure.
• Monitor network devices and identify potential performance or connectivity issues.
• Maintain network documentation, IP address lists, topology diagrams, and configuration records.
• Conduct site surveys and prepare technical observations and recommendations.
• Support CCTV, access control, IP PBX, AV, and other ELV systems where network connectivity is involved.
• Coordinate with OEMs/vendors for technical support and RMA-related issues.
• Prepare service reports, installation reports, and troubleshooting reports.
• Follow company safety, quality, and customer-site procedures.
• Required Technical SkillsStrong knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4, subnetting, VLAN, STP/RSTP, DHCP and DNS.
• Experience with Cisco / Allied Telesis / Netgear / similar managed switches.
• Basic knowledge of routing and switching.
• Knowledge of PoE, SFP/SFP+, fiber optic connectivity, and structured cabling.
• Knowledge of Wi-Fi technologies and access-point configuration.
• Ability to use tools such as ping, tracert/traceroute, ipconfig/ifconfig, nslookup, and network monitoring tools.
• Basic understanding of firewalls and network security.
• Ability to read network topology and rack elevation diagrams.
• Knowledge of CCTV networking is an added advantage.
• Preferred CertificationsCCNA or equivalent networking certification.
• Network+ or other relevant networking certification.
• Soft SkillsGood communication and customer-handling skills.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical ability.
• Ability to work independently at customer sites.
• Willingness to travel to project locations.
• Ability to prepare clear technical reports.
• Good coordination with project, sales, and service teams.
