Designation: Security Manager – Mooring Operations

Job Location: Kamarajar Port, Chennai

Salary: ₹28,000 – ₹30,000 per month

Qualification: B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering

Experience: 2–5 years preferred in marine, port, shipyard, industrial, or mechanical operations

Job Purpose

To manage and supervise security-related activities associated with mooring operations, ensuring the safety and security of manpower, vessels, equipment, and operational areas while maintaining strict compliance with port and company safety and security procedures.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise security activities related to mooring operations at the port/site.

- Monitor and control the movement of personnel, vehicles, contractors, and visitors within the mooring operational area.

- Coordinate with the mooring team, port authorities, vessel crew, and security agencies for safe and smooth operations.

- Ensure restricted areas around mooring operations are properly secured and access is controlled.

- Deploy and supervise security personnel according to operational requirements.

- Conduct regular security inspections of the mooring area, equipment, access points, and surrounding locations.

- Ensure compliance with port security regulations, company security procedures, SOPs, and safety requirements.

- Monitor potential security threats, unauthorized access, suspicious activities, and unsafe practices.

- Coordinate with port security, CISF/authorized security agencies, and other relevant authorities whenever required.

- Maintain security registers, visitor records, incident reports, gate-entry records, and daily security reports.

- Conduct security briefings and awareness sessions for security personnel and mooring team members.

- Ensure proper communication and immediate escalation of security incidents, emergencies, accidents, or other abnormal situations.

- Support emergency response and evacuation procedures during security threats, fire, accidents, adverse weather, or other emergencies.

- Ensure proper use of communication equipment and other security-related resources.

- Investigate and report security incidents and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.

- Ensure discipline, alertness, and proper conduct of security personnel deployed at the site.

- Coordinate with management for manpower requirements, security arrangements, and operational security improvements.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of port, marine, industrial, and site security operations.

- Good understanding of access control, security surveillance, emergency response, and incident management.

- Strong leadership and manpower-handling skills.

- Excellent communication and coordination skills.

- Ability to work under pressure and in outdoor/port conditions.

- Strong awareness of occupational health, safety, and security requirements.

- Ability to work in shifts, including weekends/holidays as per operational requirements.

- Basic knowledge of MS Office and security reporting will be an advantage.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.

- Experience in port, marine, shipyard, offshore, heavy engineering, or industrial operations preferred.

- Candidates with experience in site security, port security, marine operations, and manpower supervision will be given preference.

- Physically fit and capable of working in a marine/port environment.

Compensation

₹28,000 – ₹30,000 per month, depending on experience and suitability.
