Social Media Specialist

Job Summary

We are looking for a creative and energetic Social Media Executive to manage and grow our social media presence across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and X. The candidate will be responsible for content planning, content creation, posting, audience engagement, trend research and performance analysis. These are standard core responsibilities for the role.

• Key ResponsibilitiesManage the company's social media accounts and maintain a consistent brand presence.
• Plan and maintain a weekly/monthly social media content calendar.
• Create, curate, schedule and publish engaging posts, reels, stories, videos and other social media content.
• Write creative captions, headlines, hooks and social media copy.
• Research trending topics, hashtags, sounds, formats and social media trends.
• Monitor competitors and identify new content and growth opportunities.
• Coordinate with graphic designers, video editors, content writers and marketing teams to develop creative content.
• Handle comments, messages and audience interactions professionally.
• Support influencer collaborations, promotional campaigns and brand campaigns.
• Assist in planning and executing paid social media campaigns when required.
• Monitor reach, impressions, engagement, followers, leads and other relevant metrics.
• Prepare regular social media performance reports and suggest improvements.
• Stay updated with social media algorithms, platform features and digital marketing trends.
• Ensure all published content follows the company's brand guidelines and communication standards.
• Required SkillsStrong knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong creativity and understanding of social media content.
• Good knowledge of hashtags, trends, reels and audience engagement.
• Basic knowledge of Canva, Photoshop or other creative tools is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of social media analytics and insights.
• Knowledge of Meta Business Suite/Ads Manager is an advantage.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively with creative and marketing teams.
• QualificationBachelor's degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Mass Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, Business Administration or a related field.
• Relevant certification in Digital Marketing/Social Media Marketing is an added advantage.

Preferred CandidateThe ideal candidate should be creative, trend-aware, proactive and comfortable appearing/working around short-form video content. A portfolio of previous social media work, Instagram pages, campaigns or sample reels will be an advantage.
