TIG Welder

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled TIG Welder with hands-on experience in welding stainless-steel sheet metal and components used in vending machines and industrial cooking equipment. The candidate should be proficient in TIG machine setting, welding operations, drawing interpretation, weld quality control, and rejection reduction.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding on stainless-steel components and assemblies, including 0.5–5 mm sheet metal.
• Perform full-run, stitch, tack, joint, corner, pipe, and sheet-metal welding.
• Set and adjust TIG welding machines based on material thickness and job requirements.
• Select appropriate welding current, gas flow, welding speed, tungsten electrode, and filler rod.
• Conduct trial welding and adjust parameters before production.
• Read engineering drawings, welding symbols, dimensions, and work instructions.
• Ensure correct alignment, dimensions, and welding sequence.
• Weld water tanks, outer covers, pipes/tubes, enclosures, frames, vending machine components, and induction equipment components.
• Maintain proper weld penetration, appearance, strength, and consistency.
• Identify and minimize defects such as porosity, undercut, burn-through, cracks, incomplete penetration, spatter, and distortion.
• Inspect completed welds, minimize rejection/rework, and maintain first-time-right quality.
• Follow production schedules, safety procedures, PPE requirements, and proper housekeeping.
• Safely handle welding equipment, gas cylinders, and accessories and report equipment or quality issues to the supervisor.

Mandatory Requirements

• 5–10 years of relevant TIG welding experience in stainless-steel fabrication/manufacturing.
• Strong hands-on experience in TIG welding and stainless-steel welding.
• Ability to weld thin-gauge sheet metal without burn-through or excessive distortion.
• Ability to set welding parameters according to material thickness.
• Good understanding of full-run, stitch, and tack welding.
• Ability to read basic engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Good control of TIG torch and filler rod.
• Ability to identify and correct common welding defects.
• ITI / NCVT / SCVT – Welder preferred; candidates with relevant hands-on TIG experience may also be considered.
• Experience with sheet-metal products, kitchen equipment, vending machines, enclosures, or similar stainless-steel products is an added advantage.
