Job Description
- Key Responsibilities – VMC Setter / OperatorPerform VMC machine setup for new jobs, including tool setting, fixture alignment, and workpiece clamping.
- Operate VMC machines for batch production as per production requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, and machining instructions.
- Set tool offsets, work offsets, and make minor program corrections if required.
- Monitor machine performance, cycle time, and production output.
- Perform in-process inspection using appropriate measuring instruments.
- Maintain daily production records as per ISO documentation requirements.
- Ensure proper machine maintenance, housekeeping, and cleanliness.
- Minimize rejection and rework by maintaining process control and dimensional accuracy.
- Ensure production targets and quality standards are achieved.
- Technical Skills RequiredHands-on experience in VMC machine setting and operation.
- Knowledge of Fanuc / Siemens controllers (Siemens 828D preferred).
- Knowledge of CNC programming and editing is an added advantage.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T.
- Experience in batch production and job changeover activities.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, tool holders, work offsets, and machining parameters.
- Experience using measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, and Height Gauge.
- Knowledge of machining processes, tooling selection, and troubleshooting.
- QualificationITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 3–6 years of experience in the CNC/VMC machining industry.
- Experience in VMC setting and operation is preferred.
