Job Description
- General Manager – Finance: Roles & Responsibilities
- Financial Planning & StrategyPrepare financial plans and strategies for the company.
- Monitor revenue, expenses, profitability, and financial performance.
- Provide financial information to management for decision-making.
- Budgeting & ForecastingPrepare annual and monthly budgets.
- Compare actual expenses with budgeted expenses.
- Prepare financial forecasts and identify possible financial risks.
- Accounting & Financial ReportingSupervise day-to-day accounting activities.
- Review Profit & Loss (P&L), Balance Sheet, Cash Flow statements, and other financial reports.
- Ensure accounting records are accurate and updated.
- Cash Flow ManagementMonitor cash inflow and outflow.
- Manage working capital and liquidity.
- Plan payments to suppliers and monitor customer collections.
- Accounts Receivable & PayableMonitor customer outstanding payments.
- Ensure timely collection of receivables.
- Review supplier payments and outstanding payables.
- GST, TDS & Statutory ComplianceEnsure timely GST, TDS and other statutory filings.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and government authorities.
- Maintain proper documentation for compliance.
- Internal ControlsEstablish and monitor financial controls.
- Check for errors, unauthorized transactions, and financial irregularities.
- Ensure company financial policies are followed.
- Audit & TaxationCoordinate internal and external audits.
- Provide required financial documents to auditors.
- Support tax assessments and statutory requirements.
- Team ManagementLead the Finance & Accounts team.
- Allocate responsibilities and monitor performance.
- Train and guide accounting staff.
- Management Reporting
- Prepare MIS reports and financial dashboards.
- Present financial performance to the management/MD/CEO.
- Highlight major expenses, collections, risks, and profitability trends.
