Job Profile: Senior Accountant (CA Firm Background)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with a robust background in working within a Chartered Accountant (CA) firm. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of Indian taxation (GST and Income Tax), day-to-day accounting operations, and financial compliance, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

 * Maintain and finalize books of accounts (Ledgers, Trial Balance, Profit & Loss Account, and Balance Sheet) for various clients or business entities.

 * Perform regular bank reconciliations, vendor ledger reconciliations, and customer balance reviews.

 * Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable efficiently.

2. Goods and Services Tax (GST)

 * Preparation, compilation, and timely filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, and GSTR-9C).

 * Ensure proper Input Tax Credit (ITC) reconciliation (GSTR-2B matching) and resolve discrepancies.

 * Handle GST registration, amendments, and assist during departmental audits or notices.

3. Income Tax & TDS Compliance

 * Computation of advance tax liabilities and processing of Income Tax Returns (ITR-1 to ITR-6) for individuals, firms, HUFs, and companies.

 * Preparation and timely filing of Quarterly TDS/TCS returns (Form 24Q, 26Q, etc.) and issuance of Form 16/16A.

 * Keep abreast of changes in tax laws, slabs, and compliance requirements under the New and Old Tax Regimes.

4. Audit Support & Financial Reporting

 * Assist statutory auditors, internal auditors, and tax auditors by providing necessary schedules, vouchers, and documentation.

 * Prepare MIS reports, cash flow statements, and financial projections for management review or credit evaluations.

Required Qualifications & Skills

 * Experience: Minimum 5 to 7 years of core accounting and taxation experience, with mandatory prior experience working in a CA Firm.

 * Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) or Master's in Commerce (M.Com) / MBA (Finance). (Inter-CA candidates are also welcome).

 * Software Proficiency:

  * Advanced proficiency in Tally Prime / Tally ERP 9 and MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, advanced formulas).

  * Familiarity with the official GST portal, Income Tax e-filing portal, and other cloud accounting software.

 * Core Competencies: Strong analytical skills, thorough attention to detail, strict adherence to deadlines, and high ethical standards in handling confidential financial data.
