ABOUT GLOBAL IMPEXGlobal Impex is a Gurgaon-based trading and sourcing company engaged in the procurement, trading, import and export of FMCG, food products, agro commodities, cereals, spices, nuts, dry fruits and other perishable and non-perishable goods.
As we expand our domestic and international trading operations, we are looking for a highly experienced and commercially aggressive Senior Purchase & Procurement Manager who can take ownership of sourcing and supplier development across India and international markets.
This is not a routine purchase-office role.
We are looking for someone who already understands the commodity market, knows where and from whom to buy, has strong supplier/mandi relationships, understands pricing and quality, and can convert those relationships into profitable procurement opportunities for Global Impex.
THE ROLEThe Senior Purchase & Procurement Manager will be responsible for building and managing Global Impex's procurement network across India and overseas markets.
The candidate will be expected to independently identify sourcing opportunities, approach suppliers, negotiate commercial terms, evaluate products and close procurement deals.
The ideal candidate should bring existing market knowledge, supplier relationships and sourcing contacts to the organisation.
We are looking for a person who can say:"I know where to source it, who can supply it, what the market price is, what quality is available, and how to negotiate the best deal."
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Domestic Market SourcingDevelop and manage a strong supplier network across India.
- Source directly from producers, farmers, FPOs, manufacturers, processors, wholesalers, aggregators, traders, stockists, mandis and large commodity suppliers.
- Identify major sourcing hubs and markets for different commodities.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and commodity traders.
- Regularly monitor mandi and wholesale market prices.
- Identify opportunities to purchase products at competitive rates and resell them profitably.
- Travel to major sourcing markets and supplier locations whenever required.
2. Agro Commodity ProcurementTake ownership of procurement across categories including:
- Rice and other cereals
- Wheat and grains
- Pulses and lentils
- Spices
- Dry fruits
- Nuts
- Seeds
- Agro commodities
- Fresh/perishable food products
- Non-perishable food products
- FMCG products
- Packaged food products
- Other commodities identified by management
The candidate should be capable of developing new sourcing channels for products beyond the existing portfolio.
3. Mandi & Supplier Network DevelopmentThe candidate must have the ability to develop and maintain relationships with:
- APMC/mandi traders
- Commodity wholesalers
- Farmers and producer groups
- Food processors
- Manufacturers
- Importers and exporters
- Stockists
- Distributors
- Aggregators
- Large commodity suppliers
Existing relationships and a strong supplier network will be a major advantage.
- 4. International SourcingIdentify and develop international suppliers for food and agro commodities.
- Establish direct relationships with overseas manufacturers, exporters, processors and commodity traders.
- Explore sourcing opportunities across relevant international markets.
- Negotiate international purchase prices, MOQ, payment terms and delivery conditions.
- Coordinate with logistics and management regarding shipping and delivery requirements.
- Evaluate supplier credibility, product quality and commercial viability.
- Support the company in developing long-term international sourcing partnerships.
5. Commercial NegotiationThe candidate must be an excellent negotiator.

- 6. Market IntelligenceTrack daily/weekly movement of commodity prices.
- Monitor supply and demand conditions.
- Identify seasonal procurement opportunities.
- Track harvest cycles and availability.
- Monitor domestic and international market trends.
- Identify products where Global Impex can achieve attractive trading margins.
- Provide management with regular market intelligence and procurement recommendations.
- 7. Supplier EvaluationIdentify financially and operationally reliable suppliers.
- Conduct supplier due diligence.
- Verify product quality and specifications.
- Arrange samples and product inspections where required.
- Evaluate supplier capacity and consistency.
- Maintain supplier performance records.
- Develop long-term strategic relationships with high-performing suppliers.
- 8. Strategic ProcurementDevelop annual and seasonal procurement strategies.
- Identify bulk purchasing opportunities.
- Build multiple sourcing channels to reduce dependency on individual suppliers.
- Develop strategic supplier partnerships.
- Identify opportunities for direct-from-source procurement.
- Help Global Impex expand into new product categories and markets.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM THE CANDIDATEThis position requires ownership, market knowledge and commercial intelligence.

- Working directly with traders, producers, manufacturers and suppliers.
- Travelling to markets when required.
- Taking procurement decisions based on market intelligence.
- Building a procurement network for Global Impex from the ground up.
MANDATORY / HIGHLY PREFERRED EXPERIENCECandidates with experience in any of the following will be strongly preferred:

Candidates with an established supplier/mandi network will receive priority.
Experience working directly with commodity traders, APMC mandis, processors, manufacturers, farmers, exporters or large wholesalers is highly desirable.
