Cashier

We are looking for a friendly, responsible, and detail-oriented Cashier to join our café/bakery team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling customer billing and payments, operating the POS system, maintaining accurate cash records, and ensuring a smooth and pleasant checkout experience for every customer, maintaining and recording daily receivable bills and expenses.

The role requires someone who is honest, organised, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced food and beverage environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle customer billing and payments accurately and efficiently.
• Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system for dine-in, takeaway, and delivery orders.
• Accept and process payments through cash, UPI, cards, and other approved payment methods.
• Ensure all orders are correctly entered into the POS system.
• Generate bills and provide receipts to customers.
• Maintain accurate records of all cash and digital transactions.
• Handle the opening and closing cash float as per company procedures.
• Perform daily cash reconciliation and report any discrepancies immediately.
• Apply approved offers and discounts accurately.
• Follow the authorised process for cancellations, voids, and refunds.
• Coordinate with the kitchen and service team to ensure smooth order processing.
• Assist customers with billing-related queries in a polite and professional manner.
• Manage online and delivery platform orders where required.
• Ensure the billing counter and workstation are clean and organised.
• Report POS, payment system, or operational issues to the Outlet Manager.
• Receive, maintain and record daily receivable bills.
• Maintain daily cash expenses.
• Follow all company policies related to cash handling, billing, and financial accountability.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Cashier, preferably in a café, bakery, restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment.
• Basic knowledge of POS systems and digital payment methods.
• Good numerical and cash-handling skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work efficiently during busy and peak hours.
• Honest, responsible, and reliable.
• Comfortable working in shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Preferred SkillsExperience using POS systems such as Petpooja or similar software.
• Must have decent knowledge of using Ms Excle.
• Experience handling UPI, card, and cash transactions.
• Basic understanding of food and beverage operations.
• Ability to handle customer concerns calmly and professionally.
