Job Description – Computer TechnicianPosition: Computer Technician – Laptop Refurbishment & Service

Location: Manikonda, Hyderabad

Working Hours: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job SummaryWe are looking for a Computer Technician with hands-on experience in laptop repair and refurbishment. The candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end refurbishment of used/refurbished laptops, from physical inspection and repair to painting, cleaning, QC and final readiness for sale or rental.

• Key Responsibilities1. Laptop Repair & TroubleshootingDiagnose and repair laptop hardware and software issues.
• Troubleshoot and replace RAM, SSD, HDD, battery, keyboard, display, hinges, charging ports, fans and other components.
• Perform motherboard-level/basic electronic troubleshooting where applicable.
• Install and configure Windows, drivers and required software.
• Perform BIOS configuration and hardware diagnostics.
• Resolve overheating, booting, charging, display and connectivity issues.
• 2. End-to-End Laptop RefurbishmentReceive and inspect used/lot laptops for refurbishment.
• Conduct complete physical, hardware and functional assessment.
• Prepare a refurbishment/repair requirement for each laptop.
• Dismantle, clean, repair and replace defective components.
• Upgrade RAM/SSD and other components wherever required.
• Perform internal cleaning, thermal paste replacement and fan servicing.
• Clean and restore laptop body, keyboard, screen and ports.
• Ensure the laptop is professionally refurbished and ready for deployment.
• 3. Laptop Painting & Cosmetic RestorationPerform laptop body painting and cosmetic restoration.
• Repair/prepare scratched, damaged or faded laptop covers before painting.
• Carry out proper surface preparation, sanding, masking and finishing.
• Ensure uniform and professional paint quality.
• Maintain proper safety and cleanliness standards while handling painting work.
• Perform final cosmetic inspection after painting.
• 4. QC & Final TestingPerform complete Quality Control (QC) after refurbishment.
• Test display, keyboard, touchpad, camera, microphone, speakers, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB ports, HDMI and charging.
• Check battery health and overall system performance.
• Verify Windows activation, drivers and required applications.
• Ensure there are no pending hardware or software issues before marking the laptop as Ready/Available for Rent or Sale.
• 5. Ticket ManagementAttend and manage repair/service tickets assigned to the technician.
• Update ticket status, diagnosis, action taken, parts used and resolution.
• Maintain proper service history against each asset/laptop.
• Follow TAT for completing assigned tickets.
• Ensure pending tickets have a proper reason and next action.
• Close tickets only after successful repair and QC.
• 6. Inventory & Asset ManagementMaintain proper records of laptops received for refurbishment.
• Track components removed, replaced and consumed.
• Update asset numbers and refurbishment status.
• Coordinate with the inventory/operations team for movement of laptops.
• Maintain proper segregation of New / Under Maintenance / Refurbishment / QC / Ready for Rent / Ready for Sale stock.
• Candidate Requirements1–3 years of hands-on experience in laptop repair and refurbishment preferred.
• Strong practical knowledge of laptop hardware.
• Experience with refurbished/used laptops or bulk laptop lots will be an advantage.
• Experience in laptop painting/cosmetic restoration is preferred.
• Good knowledge of Windows installation, drivers and troubleshooting.
• Ability to independently diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• Good attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to handle multiple laptops and service tickets simultaneously.

Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate should be a hands-on technician who can independently take a laptop from “Received/Defective” → Diagnosis → Repair → Cosmetic Restoration/Painting → Cleaning → Software Installation → QC → Ready for Rent/Sale.
