Store Manager

A Dark Store Manager oversees the end-to-end operations of a micro-fulfillment or quick-commerce hub. Their primary duties include managing inventory, supervising picking and packing staff, and coordinating with delivery riders to ensure customer orders are dispatched swiftly and accurately.

Core Operational Responsibilities

• Order Fulfillment: Monitor the live orders dashboard and ensure the entire process—from picking to packing and dispatching—meets strict time SLAs (often 10–30 minutes).
• Inventory Control: Maintain real-time stock accuracy by conducting regular cycle counts, managing supplier deliveries, and minimizing shrinkage.
• Perishability Management: Ensure strict adherence to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and FEFO (First-Expired, First-Out) protocols, especially for grocery and FMCG items.
• Last-Mile Coordination: Work directly with delivery partners, fleet supervisors, or 3PL riders to ensure swift handovers and resolve dispatch bottlenecks. 

Staff and Resource Management

• Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and schedule shift-based picking and packing staff to ensure adequate floor coverage.
• Performance Tracking: Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, picking rates, and fulfillment times to drive efficiency.
• Workplace Safety: Maintain warehouse cleanliness and ensure all health, hygiene, and safety protocols are strictly followed by the staff. 

Business and Performance Tracking

• Data Reporting: Utilize digital inventory management systems to analyze operational data and prepare performance reports for senior management.
• Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in the supply chain and implement logistics optimizations to continuously reduce fulfillment times and costs.
