Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced *Diamond, Polki & Color Stone Grader* to evaluate, grade, inspect, and assess the quality and characteristics of diamonds, Polki stones, and colored gemstones. The ideal candidate should possess strong gemological knowledge, excellent visual observation skills, and the ability to identify stone characteristics, treatments, inclusions, and quality variations in accordance with company standards.

 Key Responsibilities

* Grade diamonds based on the 4Cs – Cut, Colour, Clarity, and Carat Weight.

* Evaluate Polki diamonds and stones based on colour, clarity, shape, size, appearance, and overall quality.

* Inspect colored gemstones such as Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Amethyst, Topaz, Tourmaline, Garnet, Tanzanite, and Aquamarine.

* Assess gemstone characteristics, including hue, tone, saturation, transparency, cut, polish, symmetry, and clarity.

* Identify inclusions, blemishes, fractures, defects, and other quality characteristics.

* Identify natural, treated, synthetic, and lab-grown stones where applicable, using appropriate grading and identification methods.

* Recognize common gemstone treatments and enhancements, including heat treatment, filling, dyeing, irradiation, and diffusion.

* Use appropriate gemological tools, such as loupes, microscopes, refractometers, polariscopes, and dichroscopes, as required.

* Sort and categorize stones according to quality, size, colour, specifications, and commercial value.

* Conduct quality checks on gemstones, diamonds, Polki stones, and finished jewellery.

* Measure and accurately record stone specifications, grading details, and inspection results.

* Maintain grading reports, quality records, and other relevant documentation.

* Coordinate with production, manufacturing, purchase, sales, and quality control teams.

* Ensure grading consistency and compliance with company quality standards and customer requirements.

* Handle valuable stones securely and follow established procedures for accountability and inventory control.

 Required Skills and Qualifications

* Strong knowledge of diamond grading, Polki grading, and colored gemstone evaluation.

* Good understanding of diamond characteristics, the 4Cs, gemstone varieties, and jewellery quality standards.

* Ability to differentiate gemstones based on colour, clarity, cut, transparency, inclusions, and overall appearance.

* Knowledge of natural, treated, synthetic, imitation, and lab-grown stones.

* Familiarity with gemological instruments and gemstone identification techniques.

* Excellent visual observation, colour differentiation, and analytical skills.

* Strong attention to detail and grading accuracy.

* Knowledge of jewellery terminology and gemstone specifications.

* Basic computer skills for maintaining grading records and reports.

* Good communication, coordination, and documentation skills.

* Ability to handle repetitive grading and sorting tasks with consistency and accuracy.

 Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in diamond grading, Polki grading, colored gemstone grading, gemstone sorting, jewellery quality control, diamond or jewellery manufacturing, or gemological laboratories will be preferred.
