Sales Engineer

Spectrum Services is looking for an energetic, self-motivated Field Sales & Marketing Executive to independently develop business for our professional interior and exterior painting services across Kanpur.

The candidate will be responsible for field marketing, lead generation, client interactions, basic technical site assessments, measurements, quotations, sales conversion and after-sales customer management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Field Sales & Business Development

Visit residential buildings, societies, independent houses, offices, hotels, schools, hospitals, institutions and commercial properties to identify painting requirements.

Approach property owners, builders, architects, facility managers and other decision-makers.

Generate enquiries, conduct sales pitches, follow up and convert leads into confirmed orders.

2. Technical Knowledge & Site Assessment

Develop a working understanding of painting processes, including surface preparation, scraping, putty, primer, paint application and finishing.

Understand different paint types, finishes, product specifications and their suitability for interior and exterior applications.

Conduct basic site inspections to identify dampness, cracks, peeling paint, surface defects and repainting requirements.

Take accurate site measurements, calculate approximate paintable areas and estimate material requirements.

Explain proposed painting solutions, application methods, quality standards and warranty terms confidently to customers.

Coordinate with technical supervisors for complex site conditions or specialised requirements.

3. Quotations & Sales Conversion

Prepare accurate quotations based on measurements, scope of work, material specifications and approved company rates.

Explain pricing, work schedules, inclusions, exclusions and payment terms.

Negotiate within authorised limits and secure work orders.

4. Customer Relationship & After-Sales Service

Maintain customer relationships from initial enquiry through project completion.

Coordinate with execution teams for project updates and customer requirements.

Handle customer feedback, complaints, service requests and warranty claims.

Maintain warranty records and ensure timely resolution of valid claims as per company policy.

Develop repeat business and referral opportunities.

5. Documentation & Reporting

Prepare site measurement sheets, quotations, work orders, customer records, warranty certificates and related documents.

Maintain a structured database of leads, follow-ups, quotations and confirmed orders.

Submit daily field visit reports and periodic sales performance updates.

Candidate Requirements

• Own two-wheeler and valid driving licence mandatory.
• Willingness to travel extensively across Kanpur for field visits.
• Good communication, presentation, negotiation and customer-handling skills.
• Basic knowledge of painting, construction finishes, site measurements or building maintenance preferred.
• Ability and willingness to learn technical painting processes, materials, measurements and quality-checking methods is essential.
• Comfortable using measuring tapes, laser distance meters and basic site inspection tools, or willing to learn.
• Basic proficiency in WhatsApp, MS Excel and digital documentation.
• Previous experience in paints, construction materials, building maintenance, waterproofing or field sales will be an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and achieve monthly sales targets.

Compensation:

• Fixed Salary + Travel Allowance + Performance-Based Sales Incentives
• Salary will be determined based on experience and capabilities.
