Auto Electrician

JOB PURPOSE

To maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems of RMC plant vehicles and equipment, ensuring safe, reliable and uninterrupted operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Diagnose and repair electrical faults in transit mixers, tippers, water tankers, loaders, concrete pumps and other plant vehicles.

• Maintain batteries, alternators, starters, wiring, fuses, relays, lights, indicators, horns and reverse-warning systems.

• Attend electrical faults in batching plants, pumps, compressors, conveyors, sensors, switches and control panels.

• Carry out preventive maintenance and inspections; identify potential faults and minimize breakdowns.

• Attend emergency breakdowns promptly and ensure proper rectification to prevent repeat failures.

• Repair/replace damaged wiring, cables, connectors, switches and electrical components; install approved electrical accessories when required.

• Maintain records of repairs, breakdowns and battery/component replacements; communicate spare requirements to the Plant Incharge.

• Follow PPE, electrical safety, housekeeping and plant safety procedures at all times.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Good knowledge of 12V/24V automobile electrical systems and vehicle wiring.

• Practical knowledge of starters, alternators, batteries, relays, fuses, sensors and electrical accessories.

• Ability to use a multimeter and other electrical testing tools for fault diagnosis.

• Good troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and problem-solving skills; ability to respond quickly to breakdowns.

ELIGIBILITY & PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• ITI in Auto Electrician / Electrician or equivalent technical qualification.

• 2–5 years of relevant experience; experience with heavy vehicles, RMC, construction or plant maintenance is preferred.
