Assistant Fashion Designer

About the Role -

We are looking for a creative, hands-on and detail-oriented Fashion Designer or Fashion Design Assistant who understands garment construction and enjoys working directly with fabrics and clothing.

The candidate should have practical knowledge of sewing, stitching and fabric cutting, along with an interest in fashion design, garment development and execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with garment designing, development and finishing.
• Perform sewing, stitching and fabric cutting.
• Assist with garment alterations and fit corrections.
• Handle fabric, measurements and basic garment construction.
• Support pattern preparation and garment sampling, as required.
• Maintain accuracy, quality and attention to detail.
• Take initiative and complete assigned work independently.

Required Skills

• Practical knowledge of sewing and stitching.
• Fabric cutting and measurement skills.
• Basic garment construction knowledge.
• Interest in fashion design and garment development.
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Ability to join immediately.

Preferred Candidates

• Fashion design students, freshers or candidates with practical tailoring experience.
• Candidates with knowledge of garment construction and finishing.
• Women returning to work after a career break are welcome to apply.
• A portfolio or photographs of previous work will be an advantage.

Important: Practical stitching and cutting skills are essential for this role. Candidates should be comfortable working hands-on with garments.
