Cluster Manager

We are looking for a result-oriented Cluster Manager / Area Sales Manager to drive sales growth, market expansion, distributor development, and retail execution for our FMCG bakery products. The role will be responsible for achieving sales targets, strengthening distribution, managing the sales team, improving collections, and ensuring product availability and freshness across the assigned territory or cluster.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesSales Planning & Target Achievement·   Develop and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual sales plans to achieve assigned targets for cakes, pastries, desserts, and other bakery products.

·   Monitor primary and secondary sales, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions to improve performance.

·   Build territory-wise and distributor-wise sales forecasts based on market potential and business plans.

Market Expansion & Distribution·   Identify new markets and business opportunities; appoint and develop distributors and channel partners as per company policy.

·   Increase outlet coverage, numeric distribution, product availability, and sales productivity across assigned markets.

·   Develop strong relationships with retailers, wholesalers, key accounts, and other relevant trade partners.

Distributor & Retail Management·   Set clear targets for distributors and monitor their sales, stock levels, service standards, and market coverage.

·   Ensure effective beat planning, route coverage, regular market visits, and execution of approved trade schemes.

·   Address distributor and retailer concerns promptly and coordinate with internal teams to resolve service issues.

Collections & Credit Control·   Monitor outstanding payments, ensure collections within approved credit terms, and follow up on overdue accounts.

·   Coordinate with Finance to review credit limits, ageing reports, and collection plans.

Team Leadership & Development·   Set targets and performance expectations for sales executives and field representatives; coach and motivate the team.

·   Conduct regular performance reviews, market work-withs, and training to improve selling skills and productivity.

·   For Cluster Managers, guide Area Sales Managers and review performance across multiple territories.

Product Availability, Freshness & Returns·   Coordinate with production, dispatch, and supply chain teams to maintain appropriate stock availability and timely delivery.

·   Monitor product freshness, shelf life, expiry, damaged goods, returns, and wastage; take action to minimize losses.

·   Ensure proper stock rotation and compliance with company quality, food safety, and handling guidelines.

Market Intelligence & Reporting·   Track competitor activity, pricing, promotions, product launches, customer preferences, and market trends.

·   Submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports, forecasts, outlet coverage updates, and action plans.

·   Maintain discipline in reporting, expense submissions, and compliance with company policies.
