Position: Team Leader – Retail Store

Department: Retail Operations

Reports To: Store Manager / Assistant Store Manager

Location: Mumbai , Ghatkopar

Job Summary

The Team Leader is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the day-to-day operations of the retail store. The role involves leading the sales team, achieving sales targets, delivering excellent customer service, maintaining store standards, and ensuring smooth store operations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, motivate, and supervise the retail sales team.

Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.

Allocate duties and manage staff schedules and shift operations.

Ensure excellent customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally.

Monitor sales performance and provide regular feedback and coaching to team members.

Ensure proper product display, visual merchandising, pricing, and stock availability.

Monitor inventory, stock movement, replenishment, and stockroom organization.

Assist with receiving, tagging, transfers, and stock counts.

Ensure billing/POS procedures are followed accurately.

Monitor cash handling and ensure compliance with company policies.

Maintain store cleanliness, presentation, and safety standards.

Support promotional activities, new product launches, and seasonal campaigns.

Prepare daily sales and operational reports as required.

Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, and loss-prevention procedures.

Handle opening and closing procedures when assigned.

Coordinate with the Store Manager and other departments to resolve operational issues.

Candidate Requirements

Graduate or equivalent qualification preferred.

2–4 years of experience in retail, preferably with team-handling experience.

Experience in a supervisory or senior sales role will be an advantage.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Good customer-service and problem-solving abilities.

Target-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Basic knowledge of POS systems, inventory management, and MS Office.

Ability to work in shifts, weekends, and on public holidays as required.
