Job SummaryThe Housekeeping Staff member plays a critical role in maintaining high hygiene, sanitation, and physical presentation across the store. Given DMart's heavy customer footfall, you will ensure retail aisles, customer restrooms, store entryways, billing areas, and back-room storage are clean, safe, and organized at all times.

• Key ResponsibilitiesStore Floor & Customer Area CleaningSweep, mop, clean, and scrub store aisles, billing counters, entrance ramps, and stairwells before store opening and throughout operational hours.
• Monitor and immediately clean spills, broken packaging, moisture, or debris to prevent customer slip and fall hazards.
• Keep glass doors, display shelving, and checkout counters dust-free and sanitized.
• Regularly empty, clean, and line all trash bins across the shopping floor and entrance areas.
• Hygiene & Restroom SanitationClean, sanitize, and scrub customer and employee washrooms at scheduled hourly intervals.
• Restock washroom consumables including liquid soap, hand paper/towels, toilet rolls, and air fresheners.
• Backroom & Inventory Area MaintenanceKeep warehouse aisles, receiving docks, customer service desks, and employee break rooms clean and organized.
• Safely discard damaged boxes, plastic wrapping, strapping bands, and pallets in designated waste/recycling bins.
• Safety & Equipment CareDiligently apply cleaning chemicals (detergents, floor disinfectants, sanitizers) according to safety and dilution guidelines.
• Safely operate and maintain cleaning tools and equipment (industrial floor scrubbers, wet/dry vacuums, mops, squeegees).
• Place "Wet Floor" caution signage immediately whenever cleaning wet surfaces.
• Report broken fixtures, leakages, or safety hazards immediately to the Floor Supervisor.
• Qualifications & RequirementsEducation: Minimum 8th/10th pass preferred (open to all educational levels for suitable candidates).
• Experience: 0 to 3+ years in retail housekeeping, mall maintenance, or facility management (freshers welcome).
• Physical Fitness: Capability to stand, walk, bend, lift cleaning gear, and perform continuous physical activity during full retail shifts.
• Personal Hygiene: Must maintain clean attire and personal grooming standards in line with DMart’s store appearance policies.
• Work Schedule: Willingness to work in flexible shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and peak festival sales periods.
• Typical Salary & Benefits (India Retail Standard)Monthly Salary: ₹12,000 – ₹16,000 / month (varies by city and tier location).
