Purchase Manager

Job OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager with strong knowledge of the dry fruits, nuts, and seeds industry. The candidate should have in-depth knowledge of wholesale markets and mandis, particularly Khari Baoli, Delhi, along with established supplier relationships and strong negotiation skills.

The candidate will be responsible for sourcing quality products at competitive prices, managing vendor relationships, monitoring market rates, and ensuring timely procurement.

• Key ResponsibilitiesHandle end-to-end procurement of dry fruits, nuts, seeds, and related food products.
• Have strong knowledge of Khari Baoli and other major wholesale markets and mandis.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with wholesalers, traders, importers, and suppliers.
• Monitor daily market prices, seasonal fluctuations, availability, and quality trends.
• Negotiate competitive purchase rates, credit terms, and payment conditions.
• Ensure consistent product quality through proper inspection and sampling.
• Compare quotations from multiple vendors to ensure cost-effective procurement.
• Maintain vendor databases, purchase records, and procurement reports.
• Coordinate with inventory and warehouse teams to ensure timely stock replenishment.
• Understand product grades, varieties, origins, moisture levels, sizes, and quality parameters of different dry fruits and nuts.
• Identify new sourcing opportunities and help reduce overall procurement costs.
• Required Skills & Experience3–7 years of experience in purchasing/procurement in the dry fruits, nuts, or food commodities industry.
• Strong practical knowledge of Khari Baoli market and Delhi wholesale trading network.
• Established contacts with dry fruit suppliers, wholesalers, traders, and importers.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Good understanding of market pricing, product quality, grading, and seasonal trends.
• Ability to independently handle procurement and supplier negotiations.
• Basic knowledge of Excel and purchase management systems.

Preferred CandidateSomeone who has hands-on experience purchasing dry fruits directly from Khari Baoli and other wholesale markets, understands actual mandi rates and product quality, and can leverage existing supplier connections to procure products at the best possible prices.
