Position: Accountant & CA Coordination – NGO
Department: Finance & Accounts
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Accountant to manage the NGO's day-to-day accounting and financial records, while also acting as the coordination point between the organisation and the Chartered Accountant (CA).
The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounts, preparing financial information and supporting documents, coordinating with the CA for accounting, taxation and audit-related matters, and ensuring timely completion of financial and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Maintain day-to-day books of accounts and financial records.
- Record receipts, payments, donations, expenses, and other transactions.
- Maintain cash book, bank book, ledgers, journals, and vouchers.
- Prepare and verify payment vouchers, invoices, bills, receipts, and expense claims.
- Conduct regular bank and ledger reconciliations.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of all financial transactions.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable.
- Maintain fixed asset and inventory records.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and MIS reports for management.
CA Coordination & Compliance
- Act as the primary coordination point with the Chartered Accountant/CA firm.
- Share accounting data, ledgers, vouchers, bank statements, invoices, and other documents with the CA in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with the CA for TDS, income tax, audit, financial statements, and other applicable compliances.
- Follow up with the CA for preparation and filing of statutory returns and reports.
- Coordinate annual statutory audits and provide all required information and supporting documents.
- Resolve accounting queries raised by the CA and coordinate with management wherever clarification is required.
- Review reports, reconciliations, and financial statements received from the CA before presenting them to management.
- Maintain a compliance calendar and follow up on important statutory deadlines.
- Coordinate with the CA for preparation of annual accounts, audit schedules, tax workings, and other financial statements.
- Ensure timely submission of information required for audits and statutory filings.
Management Reporting
- Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports for management.
- Provide project-wise and budget-wise expenditure reports.
- Highlight unusual expenses, discrepancies, pending payments, or financial issues to management.
- Assist management in budgeting, cash-flow planning, and financial analysis.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and organisational information.
Qualifications
- B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / equivalent qualification.
- 1–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience with an NGO, Trust, Society, Section 8 company, or non-profit organisation will be preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Tally/ERP and MS Excel.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial documentation.
- Working knowledge of applicable GST, TDS, income-tax, audit, and statutory compliance processes.
- Experience coordinating with a CA/CA firm is highly preferred.
