ANIMAL SHELTER MANAGER FEMALE Location: Noida

Department: Animal Welfare / Shelter Operations

Position: Female Animal Shelter Manager

Job OverviewWe are looking for a responsible, compassionate, and organised Animal Shelter Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of our animal welfare centre. The candidate will be responsible for animal care, shelter operations, staff coordination, CSR support, government liaison, awareness activities, documentation, and overall centre management.

Key Responsibilities1. Shelter & Animal Care Operations

  • Manage daily operations of the animal shelter and ensure smooth functioning of the centre.
  • Supervise feeding, cleaning, medication, treatment, rehabilitation and general animal care.
  • Ensure proper hygiene, sanitation, ventilation and safety standards.
  • Maintain records of rescued, treated, vaccinated, sterilised, adopted and rehabilitated animals.
  • Coordinate emergency rescue and treatment activities.
  • Monitor the condition of animals and immediately report serious cases to the veterinary team.
  • Ensure proper handling and care of dogs, cats and other animals under the organisation's care.

2. Staff & Team Management

  • Supervise caretakers, animal handlers, housekeeping staff, drivers, volunteers and other centre personnel.
  • Prepare duty schedules and ensure proper attendance and discipline.
  • Allocate responsibilities and monitor daily performance.
  • Train staff in animal handling, hygiene, safety and shelter procedures.
  • Resolve routine operational issues and report major issues to management.

3. Veterinary & Medical Coordination

  • Coordinate with veterinary doctors regarding treatment, surgery, vaccination, sterilisation and emergency cases.
  • Maintain medicine, medical equipment and consumable inventories.
  • Ensure proper documentation of medical procedures.
  • Monitor post-operative and critical-care animals.

4. CSR & Donor Coordination

  • Assist management in preparing CSR proposals, budgets, project reports and utilisation reports.
  • Coordinate with CSR companies, donors and institutional partners.
  • Maintain records of CSR-supported projects, expenditure and deliverables.
  • Assist in preparing photographs, videos, impact reports and supporting documents required by CSR partners.
  • Follow up with existing and prospective CSR supporters.

5. Government & Local Authority Coordination

  • Coordinate with Noida Authority, municipal/local government bodies and other relevant departments.
  • Handle routine correspondence, permissions, inspections, meetings and documentation.
  • Coordinate with RWAs, AOAs, police authorities and local representatives whenever required.
  • Maintain proper records of official communications and approvals.

6. Community Awareness & Outreach

  • Organise animal welfare awareness programmes in schools, colleges, RWAs and communities.
  • Coordinate vaccination, sterilisation, adoption and responsible pet ownership campaigns.
  • Promote humane treatment of community animals.
  • Coordinate volunteers and participants during awareness programmes and public events.

7. Social Media & Communication

  • Coordinate with the social media/digital team for regular updates from the centre.
  • Ensure proper photographs and videos of rescue, treatment, vaccination, adoption and awareness activities.
  • Provide accurate daily updates and stories for social media.
  • Support campaigns, fundraising communication and public awareness initiatives.
  • Maintain professional communication with followers, volunteers, donors and supporters.

8. Adoption & Public Interaction

  • Coordinate adoption activities and maintain adopter records.
  • Counsel potential adopters regarding responsible pet ownership.
  • Coordinate follow-up with adopted animals where required.
  • Handle visitors, volunteers and supporters professionally.

9. Inventory & Procurement

  • Maintain stock registers for animal food, medicines, surgical materials, cleaning supplies and other essential items.
  • Monitor stock levels and raise requirements before shortages occur.
  • Coordinate purchases and maintain bills, quotations and supporting documents.
  • Ensure proper utilisation and storage of organisational resources.

10. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly operational reports.
  • Maintain records of animals, staff, expenses, medicines, food, rescues, treatments and adoptions.
  • Prepare photographs and documentation for management, CSR partners and authorities.
  • Ensure transparency and proper record keeping in all shelter activities.
  • Candidate RequirementsGraduate preferred; candidates with experience in animal welfare/shelter management will be given preference.
  • Candidates with BSW, MSW, Animal Welfare, Social Work, NGO Management or related experience are preferred.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge, including MS Office/Google Workspace.
  • Ability to manage staff and volunteers.
  • Ability to communicate with government authorities, RWAs, CSR teams and the public.
  • Strong organisational and documentation skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergencies.
  • Compassion for animals and commitment to animal welfare is essential.
