We are looking for a highly driven, technically strong and hands-on professional who can take ownership of our battery manufacturing unit and build it from the ground up.
This is not a desk-only management role. We need someone who can work directly on the factory floor, collaborate with engineers and technicians, solve real manufacturing challenges, build a strong team and turn ideas into commercially viable battery products.
About the RoleAs the Battery Manufacturing & Operations Lead, you will be responsible for establishing, managing and scaling our complete battery manufacturing operations.
From machinery selection and production-line setup to battery pack development, quality control, team hiring, procurement and commercial execution, you will lead the process end to end.
We are looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with an entrepreneurial mindset, practical execution skills and the ability to work in a fast-growing business.
- Key Responsibilities1. Battery Manufacturing Unit SetupEstablish the battery manufacturing unit from scratch, including plant layout, machinery selection, installation and commissioning.
- Identify the equipment required for cell testing, capacity grading, cell sorting, pack assembly, welding, BMS integration and final battery testing.
- Develop production workflows, standard operating procedures and manufacturing processes.
- Prepare machinery requirements, capital expenditure estimates, operating budgets and production plans.
- Coordinate with equipment manufacturers, vendors, contractors and technical consultants.
- 2. Battery Chemistry & Pack EngineeringDemonstrate strong practical knowledge of lithium-ion battery technologies, particularly LFP (lithium iron phosphate) and NMC (nickel manganese cobalt).
- Understand sodium-ion battery technology and evaluate its suitability for EV and battery-swapping applications.
- Lead the development and manufacturing of battery packs for electric two-wheelers and other relevant EV applications.
- Understand cell specifications, series-parallel configurations, voltage and capacity calculations, battery pack architecture and electrical integration.
- Work with battery management systems (BMS), protection circuits, wiring, connectors, enclosures and thermal management solutions.
- Oversee prototype development, validation, performance testing, reliability testing and product improvement.
- Work with cell suppliers and engineering partners to select suitable cells for different battery applications.
- 3. Factory-Floor Operations & Production ManagementBe actively involved in daily manufacturing operations and work directly with production employees, technicians and engineers.
- Establish production targets, monitor output and ensure timely execution.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency, production yield and equipment utilisation.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement practical solutions.
- Maintain production records, inventory controls, traceability and process documentation.
- Introduce continuous improvement practices to reduce wastage, defects, rework and downtime.
- 4. Quality Control, Testing & SafetyEstablish incoming cell inspection, voltage measurement, capacity testing, internal-resistance checks and cell grading procedures.
- Implement quality checks throughout battery pack assembly and final testing.
- Investigate product failures, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Establish procedures for battery handling, storage, electrical safety and fire-risk management.
- Coordinate applicable product testing, certification and compliance requirements.
- Ensure that products meet agreed technical specifications and customer requirements.
- 5. Team Hiring & LeadershipRecruit, train and lead the manufacturing and engineering team.
- Build the required workforce across production, testing, quality assurance, procurement and maintenance.
- Work alongside employees and lead by example on the factory floor.
- Establish clear responsibilities, performance targets and accountability.
- Develop a disciplined, collaborative and execution-focused working culture.
