Site Engineer

Reports to: Project Manager / Site-in-Charge

Location: Construction Site

PurposeResponsible for the technical execution, quality, and progress of construction activities on site, ensuring work is carried out as per drawings, specifications, and safety standards.

• Key ResponsibilitiesStudy and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings before execution
• Set out levels, alignments, and layouts using surveying instruments (total station, auto level, theodolite)
• Supervise day-to-day construction activities — excavation, shuttering, reinforcement, concreting, masonry, plastering, finishing
• Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, IS codes, and technical specifications
• Prepare and maintain daily progress reports (DPR), site diaries, and material consumption records
• Check and certify bar bending schedules (BBS), concrete mix design, and cube test results
• Coordinate with contractors, sub-contractors, and labour teams to ensure work schedules are met
• Conduct quality checks (slump test, cube casting, cover blocks, alignment checks) at every stage
• Maintain measurement book (MB) and assist in bill preparation/verification
• Ensure proper resource planning — manpower, material, and machinery
• Resolve on-site technical issues and escalate design discrepancies to consultants/PM
• Ensure compliance with safety norms (PPE usage, safe scaffolding, fall protection)
• Coordinate with surveyors, quality engineers, and safety officers
• Attend client/consultant site visits and address technical queries
• Skills & QualificationsB.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, Excel
• Strong understanding of construction methods, codes (IS 456, IS 1200, etc.)
• Good communication and coordination skills
• 1–5 years' experience (varies by seniority)
