Job Summary

RR Petroplast Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Plastic Recycling Production Engineer to lead the commissioning, operation, optimization, and continuous improvement of its plastic recycling extrusion and die-face pelletizing line. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring consistent production of premium-quality recycled plastic granules while maximizing productivity, minimizing waste, and maintaining strict quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations

Commission and stabilize the extrusion and die-face pelletizing line.

Operate and optimize plastic recycling extrusion processes.

Achieve daily production targets while maintaining product quality.

Monitor machine performance and improve productivity.

Minimize production losses and optimize raw material utilization.

Plan and execute daily production schedules.

Process Engineering

Develop and optimize processing parameters for:

PP Copolymer (PPCP)

HDPE Injection Moulding Grade

HDPE Blow Moulding Grade

LDPE Injection Moulding Grade

LDPE Blow Moulding Grade

ABS

HIPS

Optimize:

Barrel temperature profiles

Screw RPM

Melt pressure

Vacuum venting

Screen pack selection

Die-face cutter settings

Cooling systems

Pellet quality and consistency

Quality Control:

Maintain consistent Melt Flow Index (MFI).

Ensure uniform pellet size and appearance.

Control contamination, moisture, gels, and black specks.

Coordinate testing of recycled granules.

Maintain production and quality documentation.

Ensure every production batch meets customer specifications.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance.

Troubleshoot extrusion, pelletizing, and auxiliary equipment.

Improve machine uptime and production efficiency.

Work closely with maintenance teams to reduce downtime.

Team Leadership:

Train production operators and helpers.

Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Ensure compliance with safety and housekeeping standards (5S).

Supervise production staff and foster continuous improvement.

New Product Development

Develop customized recycled polymer grades.

Conduct production trials for new customer requirements.

Recommend additives, fillers, stabilizers, pigments, and processing aids to enhance product performance.

Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in:

Polymer Engineering

Plastic Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

Chemical Engineering

Additional certifications in plastics processing or recycling are an advantage.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in recycled plastic granule manufacturing.

Experience with die-face cutting pelletizers and extrusion systems is preferred.

Strong knowledge of processing PP, HDPE, LDPE, ABS, and HIPS.

Technical Skills:

Plastic extrusion and recycling processes

Die-face pelletizing

Polymer identification and segregation

MFI testing and quality control

Colour matching and additive selection

Production planning

Root cause analysis and process optimization

Preventive maintenance planning

MS Excel and production reporting

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Daily production output (kg/day)

Machine utilization (%)

Production rejection rate (%)

Material recovery efficiency (%)

Energy consumption per tonne

Machine downtime

Customer complaint rate

Batch-to-batch quality consistency

On-time production completion
